‘Food back home’ has always been the inspiration behind the success story of this true blooded Kapampangan with innate passion for good food just like how it was cooked full of love back home. Join us as we explore the life of the woman behind the famous ‘Pampanga Specialty Delicacies’ and Cafe de Manila and her love for good old home cooking food.

At a very young age in her hometown of San Fernando, Pampanga, Milie Samson Cadag, was raised and exposed to the best home cooking experience not only her province has been known for but it was deeply ingrained into her genes being in a family with the passion for traditional cooking that has been passed from one generation to another. Milie is the eldest of the 6 siblings, born and raised in the bustling San Fernando city, Pampanga known for being the Food Capital of the Philippines. Her love for good food and upon showing early signs of entrepreneurial skills, at an early age, she further honed this talent by selling goodies/delicacies after school. This was her training ground all throughout her young life until she graduated from University of Assumption with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, she further ventured into business by opening a gift shop store. Business was booming until a natural calamity devastated her province.

Mount Pinatubo explosion in 1991 forced her to change course and pursue a new chapter in her life. Armed with a Nursing degree and license,Milie migrated to the United States and fulfill her American dream not only for herself but like other Pinoy migrants, a big chunk for doing it was for her family. For a long period of time, her engagement was mostly in the medical fields and where she fulfilled most of her dreams in life.

But just like any other success story, it is never complete until you fulfill your heart’s desire and here is where Milie had to go back to her first love and what she always had the passion doing – – – going to the Food  business.

It was always ‘FOOD BACK HOME’ as the inspiration behind her launching ‘Pampanga Specialty Delicacies’ business. That was Milie’s way of sharing her love to Filipino-Americans in Las Vegas missing the good old cooking way back home. She slowly etched her way making a name for herself as her delicacies find its way to many Fil-Am homes. With the success, she further ventured to her own restaurant and Cafe de Manila was born in Spring Valley. Cafe de Manila serves from breakfast to dinner all the most loved Filipino food done in home cooking style. These two establishments continue to be a success as it was nurtured from pure passion for cooking mixed with a knack for business and perseverance/sheer hard work. And there’s no stopping Milie now as she continues to expand her business with home catering, food concessionaire agreement with Seafood City and Island Pacific as well as lights and mobile music services for all occasions.

But beyond what Milie was able to achieve, she attributes all the blessings that she is reaping now to her being that simple kind hearted and friendly lass raised the old fashioned way.

Cooking with a heart’ what keeps Milie grounded even as she sees her food being patronized not only by her fellow Fil-Ams  but finding its way also to the diverse homes all over different states.

A trailblazer and her journey has just begun. On to the next chapter.
